Leaving Seoul

We finished packing up and left an hour or so for us to clean and find the drop offs for the garbage bags. Then we made our way 1 stop to Seoul Station. We decided to do the train on the way back to the airport. I had read about it, and you take the escalator down several floors and check in for the Airport train. The staff was very helpfull and called us over and did the payment screen for us on the kiosk to speed up things and then gave us our seats and gave us a dedicated elevator to the train. The train was very nice, and there is a luggage area. There are video screens, charging areas and you have wifi. This is much faster than the bus and cost around the same, so if you are near the Seoul Station, consider this option.

Once at the airport, we had our dedicated elevator to the check in level, and from there it is easy to check in. We had to turn in our wifi egg which had been so handy on our trip.

Security/Customs was a breeze and we just had to wait our time for the flight. We always get there early and often use up our left over currency buying some fun items in the airport or snacks. We went into the duty free area and got some chocolates and Dree had a ‘fun’ time finding the kiosk to get a refund on her BT21 purchases. It was not easy to find, so don’t bother unless you are getting a big payback.

While heading to our gate, we noticed a person with a camera and long lens taking photos of someone behind us. I heard a man tell them no photos. We joked we were famous “no photos please”. When we got to the end of the moving sidewalk I looked to see who was behind us, and it was Lisa and Jennie from Blackpink. I told Dree and starting freaking out a bit. Why I don’t know? Anyway they got back on the moving sidewalk to go to the next gate and I walked along and called their name. They looked at me and smiled. I said Hi and that we were fans of Blackpink and it was nice to see them (or something). I think they smiled and nodded their head at us, and we walked away. I saw them join the other girls and mgrs are the next gate down, but I didn’t want to bother them in any way so we just watched from afar.

We had a nice flight home… well to L.A. We didn’t go home yet, we were going to L.A. for the Stray Kids concert in Pasadena. Check that concert page for details.

I can’t wait to return to Seoul. It was one of the best places I have visited. I felt so happy there.
